I can tell you this 720p, 1080i, 1080p all came out crystal clear. You have to do a DVI to HDMI type connection for PS3 and give your PC the VGA but it pays off for both hardware. The Gateway FPD2485W is the one I can recommend. 720P on BenQ for the PS3 was just plan terrible and unplayable. Third the images it reproduced seem clear but not crisp if you know what I mean. I notice that some 1080p games where over stretched, like Tekken and it seems to be mostly the PSN ones. On the positive side it does a damn good job of scaling sometimes. BenQ comes off as a little overbright, I had to turn down the brightness down to 0 just to get it acceptable. The second thing is the blacks, even though it has a 1000:1 contrast ratio. I had to do alot of tweaking to get it to look good not great. I tried the BenQ FP241VW (Includes 1:1 pixel mapping), this model works ok for PS3, I thought the default color setup sucks. Very unfortunate as not many monitors feature an HDMI port, or the ability to scale to 1080p.Īlso I would like to add that the Samsung 226BW does not do 1:1 pixel mapping, and does not scale to 1080p, so add that next to it. They then had to send it back and hope that they got a new one.
